Badia de Pollença > El Rec > Torrent de Can Xanet > Torrent de s’Albufera > Badia de Pollença

A burst of nature

This is the island’s third-largest wetland area. The Albufereta was declared a nature reserve in 2001 and is a place of pilgrimage for people who love birds. Its mixture of waters from different sources gives it the varying salinity levels which are the key to its supreme biodiversity and its rich animal life. It is a unique and very beautiful place with lakes, dunes, beaches, intermittent streams and up to 196 different species of bird.
