Can Cullerassa beach, an ideal spot for windsurfing

Can Cullerassa is situated at 1,5 kilometres from Port de Pollença, on its coast there is the mouth of the Torrent de Sant Jordi.

This quiet beach is a stony area which is very long, but narrow at the same time, the pebbles are mixed to a fine-grained sand and seaweed due to the sea currents, as a result of a strong wind blowing from the east that reaches this unsheltered coast. At a few metres from this coastal stretch of Pollença there are some enormous pine trees.

The straight coastline of this beach finishes at an artificial breakwater that separates it from Platja de Llenaire. This public and free breakwater is used as landing stage for small boats with trailer.

The marine and underwater conditions are not very good for anchoring boats because it is open to the sea and unsheltered from the air blowing from the east. This is positive for the windsurfers who have found here their favourite place on the majorcan coast to do this sport. These ideal conditions for windsurfing explain that there have been Spanish and European championships here. At 0,9 nautical miles there is Port de Pollença.
