HOLY THURSDAY AND GOOD FRIDAY

HOLY THURSDAY AND GOOD FRIDAY

THE DAVALLAMENT (DESCENT OF THE CROSS) ON GOOD FRIDAY IS OF TOURIST INTEREST

The par excellence event that symbolizes the Easter week in Pollença is the Good Friday Descent.

Considered of Tourist Interest from 1968, it basically consists in unnailing an articulated Saint Christ situated at the top of the Calvary and its later descending through the 365 stairs which take to the hill until arriving to the town streets, from where the procession heads to the Mare de Déu dels Àngels Parish Church.

We should also mention the Holy Thursday procession, with a group of plastic scenes that represent passages of the Passion located along its route as the most outstanding aspect since the middle sixties decade of the XX century.

On Monday we have the typical pilgrimage to the Puig de Maria.
